Jakarta, 3 February 2026 — PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (“VKTR”) held VKTR Day, a stakeholder gathering that brought together strategic partners, government representatives, industry players, and associations to strengthen collaboration in the development of Indonesia’s national electric vehicle ecosystem. The event was attended by VKTR President Commissioner Anindya Bakrie, VKTR CEO A. Ardiansyah Bakrie, the Board of Directors of VKTR, the holding company’s Board of Directors, Bakrie & Brothers, as well as strategic partners including Transjakarta, Mayasari Bakti, Laksana, and others. Representatives from government institutions and several industry associations were also present.
Carrying the theme “From Local Manufacturing to National Impact,” VKTR reaffirmed its role as a domestic electric vehicle manufacturer that has progressed from the development phase toward real-world implementation. This is reflected in its delivery portfolio, cross-sector collaborations, and the achievement of a Local Content Requirement (TKDN) exceeding 40 percent.
“The development of the electric vehicle ecosystem cannot rely on a single stakeholder. Collaboration among industry players, government, research institutions, and associations is essential to ensure that local manufacturing delivers tangible and sustainable impact,” said A. Ardiansyah Bakrie, CEO of VKTR.
As part of the event, VKTR hosted a talk show session moderated by Indah Saugi, Chief of Corporate Affairs of VKTR, featuring representatives from research institutions, regulators, and industry associations, including Prof. Dr. Irhan Febijanto, M.Eg from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Patia Jungjungan Monangdo, S.T., MPP from the Ministry of Industry, Irwan Arifianto, ST from the Ministry of Transportation, and Rian Ernest Tanudjaja, Secretary General of the Electric Mobility Ecosystem Association (AEML). The discussion highlighted the importance of policy alignment, industry readiness, on-the-ground implementation of electric vehicles, and their social and environmental impact.
“Strengthening local manufacturing is a strategic foundation for accelerating electric vehicle adoption. This forum reflects how policy, industry readiness, and field implementation must progress in parallel,” added Ardiansyah Bakrie.
At the end of the talk show session, the event concluded with a presentation by BloombergNEF, delivered by Dr. Felix Kosasih, Southeast Asia Associate of BloombergNEF, highlighting the strategic opportunities of transport electrification in Indonesia and its role in supporting the energy transition and strengthening the national electric vehicle industry.
In line with this agenda, through Bakrie Center Foundation, Bakrie Group established a partnership with BloombergNEF as a provider of strategic research and data to support the Group’s initiatives, including VKTR. The collaboration was marked by the signing ceremony between Anindya Bakrie, President Commissioner of VKTR, and Shantanu Jaiswal, Head of India and Southeast Asia Research at BloombergNEF.
As a tangible realization, VKTR conducted the handover of 10 electric vehicles, comprising five compactor units to the Environmental Agency and five dump trucks to the Water Resources Agency. This handover forms part of VKTR’s support for more efficient and low-emission government operations through the utilization of domestically produced electric vehicles. These vehicles will be used for urban waste collection, which will subsequently be processed into energy, thereby contributing to the implementation of the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) program as well as the reduction of carbon emissions in the transportation and waste management sectors.
In the same event, VKTR also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Panah Perak Megasarana, witnessed by PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia. Through this collaboration, VKTR will provide electric trucks to support PT Panah Perak Megasarana’s biomass pellet distribution activities. Biomass pellets are renewable solid fuels in the form of small cylindrical pellets, produced from compressed biomass such as sawdust, wood waste, and agricultural residues, which will subsequently be processed into energy by PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia.
“The integration of electric mobility into the Waste-to-Energy value chain demonstrates that the transportation sector can play a direct role in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition,” said V. Bimo Kurniatmoko, Director of VKTR.
VKTR also presented its electric vehicle delivery portfolio across various sectors. The Company has delivered three electric buses to a state-owned mining company to support employee mobility, and has delivered 50 electric buses for Transjakarta through operator DAMRI as part of a total order of 80 units, with the remaining 30 units already assembled and currently entering the bodywork stage. In addition, VKTR is producing two 8-meter electric shuttle buses for an educational institution in Central Java, targeted for delivery by the end of the second quarter. Entering early 2026, the Company has also secured a purchase order for electric buses from a leading real estate developer in Jakarta.
The VKTR Day series was complemented by a product exhibition showcasing locally assembled electric trucks, transporters, and electric buses, and concluded with a Gala Dinner involving cross-sector strategic partners. Through this forum, VKTR, together with government entities, industry partners, research institutions, and associations, strengthened collaboration in advancing local manufacturing and expanding the adoption of electric vehicles as part of a sustainable national ecosystem.
